EnviroWare Selected By National Institutes of Health for Hazardous Waste Management
Dec. 17, 2004
Pittsburgh , PA- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) today awarded a sole source contract to Contemporary Technologies, inc. for the acquisition of EnviroWare, the company's leading hazardous waste management software application. The software will be used to track and manage hazardous substances at the NIH's Bethesda , MD campus.
EnviroWare provides NIH with the ability to manage their waste accumulation center, where hazardous waste materials are accumulated for analysis and identification before being re-packaged and shipped off-site. EnviroWare also provides NIH with the ability to track the waste back to its individual laboratories and generators, enabling them to manage lab-packing. EnviroWare centralizes data that can be used both by the treatment, storage and disposal facility workers and the generating laboratories.
"We are obviously thrilled with the announcement of the award," stated Epi Torres, COO of Contemporary Technologies. "The NIH has gone through a rigorous process to find the software product that best fit their hazardous waste management needs. We believe their selection of EnviroWare lends credence to our claim that the product is the most flexible, robust and feature rich hazardous waste software tool available."
Since 1996, EnviroWare has provided some of the largest hazardous waste treatment and storage facilities with safe and centralized waste management software. By managing all of the information on the waste from "cradle to grave", EnviroWare helps to ensure adherence to EPA regulations and provide better operational efficiency. The EnviroWare suite also helps waste generators to more accurately detail their on-site hazardous waste data and track the waste through ultimate destruction. With a variety of modules, EnviroWare provides an extremely flexible and user-friendly interface that can be used throughout an organization via a web browser.
